Venezuela Beats Puerto Rico

E-mail Print PDF

The host Venezuelan team gets back in the tournament by defeateing Ouerto Rico 5-2.  Venezuela scored two runs in both the second and third to drive out the Puerto Rican starter, and then tagged on more in the fourth, for good measure.

Puerto Rico finds itself in the basement after two games.  It needs to win a few, in a hurry, if it hopes to have a chance in this tournament.

After two games, the Dominican Republic stands atop the standings at 2-0, both Mexico and Venezuela trail at 1-1, and Puerto Rico has yet to win at 0-2.  Tomorrow is the last game of the first round-robin.

Tomorrow, Mexico takes on Puerto Rico while the Dominican Republic looks to stay undefeated against Venezuela.
